  5. Irene Gutmann Says:

Can someone help me figure out where to post, how to post and where the audio is for the call? I don’t know if my computer is not letting through information or if I missed something. I signed up a few days ago and don’t know what to do.

  6. Danny Freedman Says:

I am excitedabout this challenge, it is nice to have some accountability towards growing my practice. I am ready to grow my business in a ubstantial way, and I believe this will help me to move further into my long term dream of being a leader in the coaching profession. I am a little unsure of where to post. So I will take care of it here. I approached Patrick Poulin and Eric Richer today. I loved the energy of both of them, and invited both to deepen the learning of their inner Journey with coaching.

  7. Helena Berggren Says:

Just signed up on the Challenge. Thank you for giving me this “push” forward. My invitation for today (October 23rd) has gone out, waiting on the results.
Like Irene Gutmann I am unsure of how to post though.
    Would appreciate some clarification.
Looking forward to following everybody whos picked up on the Challenge.
    Good Luck everyone!

  8. Dr. Lorrie Lauer Says:

    Hi,

To start, I want to reply to Irene–the call is tonight Oct. 23, 6pm PST 218-486-7200 Code 369100. You post here: http://www.solutionbox.com/30day. Hope it helps you.

I called and invited my friend, Leilani. I invited her because I know she is struggling with her business and artistic goals. She agreed to an introductory session today, which we did–sort of. Half way through the session, we began having technical difficulties. Was able to guide her in her setting a more focused goal on what she really wants in her life. and will complete session tomorrow at 7pm.

  9. Sharon Reus Says:

Made my first call, to Elizabeth M. I chose her because she’s attended one of my seminars previously and she fits within my coaching niche. I’m waiting to hear back from her.

Also… Lorrie, how did you know the call was tonight? I haven’t gotten any information aside from the initial email saying I would get more info later.

  10. Sharon Reus Says:

Follow-up: got a return call from Elizabeth M. and booked an intro session for Nov. 3. Yay!

  11. Rafe Says:

I called and invited an old friend Lann S. He was curious about coaching and interested in what the value would be in having a coach. Appointment is set for tomorrow.

  12. Jan Says:

This is the boost that I choose to receive. Great idea.
    Jan

  13. Elisabeth Says:

I’m very excited to be here. Love the focus that the challenge provides, and the info we’re getting here in the calls.

About my first call… I had my mastermind group call today, and during my time, I told them about the 30-day challenge and invited my fellow group members to a session with me during the next week. At least one of them said she’d take me up on it ;-)

    Elisabeth

  14. Tina Nies Says:

I love the 30-day challenge – it’s just what I need to get back into coaching. I haven’t actively pursued clients in at least six months, so thank you! I invited Dan – I meet him at a recent chamber of commerce event. He thanked me and explained that he already was working with a coach! I didn’t think of it at that moment, because we chatted about the benefits of coaching… but next time that is a response, I can ask for a referral based on their positive experience with coaching. I plan to email him and thank him for talking with me, ask about his business and for a referral to a friend who could benefit!

  15. Jan Says:

I called a former colleague, Arlene, today and set up an introductory session for Wednesday Oct. 29. She would be an ideal client as she wants to re-invent herself.
    Jan

  16. Wendy Says:

I’m excited to be doing this. I called seven people from an event I attended last week. Most are creative artists of one type or another, which is my niche, so they had expressed some interest in learning more about what I do. Reached several, some asked me to call back another time. I made an invitation to one, SB, who scheduled a session for tomorrow.

  17. Suzanna Says:

I called Ann, an inactive client to see where her focus is right now. Appointment scheduled for Tuesday. :)

  18. David Wood Says:

Great to see you guys in action already!

    David

  19. Jacleen Says:

Made my first call today, and booked my first intro session for tonight :-)

  20. Jacleen Says:

Forgot to say who I made my first call to and why… I called Pete because we were buddies at a Chris Howard event and we agreed to keep each other accountable to our goals. I hadn’t heard from him in a little while and asked him where he wants to make changes – he wants to increase his income.

  21. Suzanne Says:

Reading through all YOUR experiences is highly inspiring. This is such a great motivator!!! Thanks David, you marketing genius!!!

As I completed a mentoring session with a 36 year ago friend who recently popped back into my life, I asked him if he would be interested in an introductory coaching session. He immediately responded, “Yes.” He said he actually had been coached before, but never personal coaching. Monday at 10:00 AM. WOW! I did it!!!! Too Cool!!! Thank you, thank you, T Y!!

  22. Rikke from Denmark Says:

    Hello
I have just been lissen to the call from last night, i am looking foreward to the next 30 days, I need a buddie? and i couldn´t go into the chat room. I am 6-7 hours ahead Solutionsbox-time. Just so you know. Thank you

  23. Faye Says:

I emailed a lady I met at a networking event about a month ago and she came straight back and said yes to a complimentary session – bingo! Booked in for next week :-)

  24. Rikke from Denmark Says:

I called my cousin and she got very surprised and happy, and said straight yes to a session for next week.
    Rikke

  25. Helena Berggren Says:

My first invitation (Oct. 23rd) went to a former assistant of mine, Annette, who I know am dealing with some changes in both her professional and personal life. I also know she will be a good person to give me feedback.
    Waiting on her response.

Question: I could not access the notes from the Introductory Session 101 call. I get an error message that the file is not found on the server. Advice?
Looking forward to listen to the mp3 from the call though.
    Helena/Eminent Coaching

  26. Cammilla Says:

    Nice job everyone!

I have sent an e-mail to one from my network, and she has booked a trial session 31/10.

    Best regards,

    Cammilla (Denmark)

  27. Caroline E Says:

Hi, I emailed one of my advocates to invite her for a complimentary session. She’s in banking and I guess may be feeling the effects of the credit crunch. Awaiting a reply! Fingers crossed :-)
    Caroline

  28. Nicole Says:

Hi everyone! I am so excited. I hadn’t realized until the call last night that we didn’t have to extend an invite to someone until today, so I had extended an invite to a person yesterday. We have an appointment set for next Thursday!! Last nights call was so amazing and inspiring. Thank you David for this!!!

Also, I need a buddy!! Who isn’t buddied up yet?

    Here’s my email for a buddy: allsolutionscreated@gmail.com

  29. Nicole Says:

LOL I forgot to post who I invited and the result. Wait I put the result but forgot the who.

I invited a friend of mine name Kori via personal interaction and she scheduled with me. I can’t wait to ask my next person today!!

  30. jerry Says:

I did my first invite this morning and it went great
I expect to sign him up for a three month coaching

    jery

  31. Linda "Change is Inevitable" Says:

    Hi everyone,

I’m loving this idea, I spend my time kicking people in to action and over coming procrastination but do seem to be a little slack myself.

I contacted an IFA that I network with alot and he bit my hand off! So, Monday I wil be doing an intro session with Stuart J.

    Isn’t this fun!

PS. I am in the UK so if anyone would like to buddy up please get in touch: linda@changability.co.uk

  32. Rachel Says:

I called a fellow coach whom I know needs help developing a certain aspect of her business. We have an appointment later today!
May end up being a pro bono or exchange of services, but I’m coaching and as an absolutely brand new coach that is exciting for me!

looking for a buddy? email me at ramielap@gmail.com

  33. Jan Says:

I contacted another former California colleague, Jessie, who is in a new role transition, a niche of mine. She’s agreed to a session. I’ve suggested next Tuesday evening. Will keep you ‘posted’ – literally!
Jan/Leading Forward Coaching & Assessment, LLC

  34. Sharon Reus Says:

Made my second invite today and was immediately accepted. This was to a high-level person that I’ve never met, B.A.,.,… we were on the phone talking about a project we’re both working on, and he asked about my coaching. I was so emboldened by the call last night that I offered him a session! I would NEVER have done that without having the verbiage that David shared with us. Also… one of the things I noticed in the call last night was David’s enthusiasm for what he does, and how strongly it came through in his communication with potential clients. I tried to model some of that behavior today and I think it really helped. So thanks, I feel like I’m benefiting from this already!

  35. Mimi Says:

I was talking with a friend of mine named Sue and was describing the challenge to her. She asked me a lot of questions and then asked if I would do an introductory session with her. I didn’t even think of asking her but she was excited hearing about coaching and wondered if it might be good for her. We’re going to talk tomorrow evening. David, I also want to thank you not only for the challenge but also the terrific encouragement and support you are giving us. Who thought marketing would be this much fun. By the way, I couldn’t download the PDF document on the download site.

  36. Chuck Hicks Says:

I am encouraged by this process and excited about the possibilities (probabilities) of making this business my full time career. I contacted two of the people on my list and (on of which is my mentor) and both have agreed to an introductory session. I will do a session on Monday with Aqebi, and Miguel will be calling me back later to set an appointment. I have set a goal to contact at least 5 more of my contacts before the end of the day.

  37. Rachel Says:

I couldn’t access the PDF notes from the call last night-recieveds error not on solutionbox server. Anyone else have that problem or have a solution for me?
    Thanks,
    Rachel

  38. Rikke Says:

I am looking for a Buddy?
    bookingkompagniet@gmail.com

    Rikke (Denmark)

  39. Helena Berggren Says:

My invitation for October 24th went to lady named Ingegerd. She is going through a major life transition and during a chat on Skype she expressed a whish for guidance at this point in her life. At the time for our chat she did not know that I work as a coach. She knows now and I look forward to her respons.
    /Helena (Eminent Coaching)

  40. Mary Says:

I was coaching one of my clients, Ann, today and in the course of it, made an offer to her to give a sample session to her boss, Bill, or a sample session of organizational coaching to her with her boss, Bill and another person, Leslie, who works with both of them. Ann enthusiastically received the invitation and is going to pass on my offer to Bill who she thought would be interested in doing either version of the sample session. They both consult to companies in the sustainability arena which is my coaching niche so they could potentially refer me to a number of clients.

I also made a call and left a long voicemail message to a Yale School of Management professor today, Cade, who I had met last weekend at a 20th reunion and who I e-mailed earlier this week. I requested a meeting to discuss how coaching could further what they are trying to do in their efforts to develop values based leadership both in their year round program and their executive MBA program.

  41. Beth Dargis Says:

OK, you can try the PDF again, I’m not sure why it wasn’t showing up. It is working now.

You are all doing fantastically! I love how many of the people were enthusiastic to your requests to do sessions with them.

  42. Jan Says:

Rachel – yes, having the same problem with downloading the 101 pdf file.

  43. Rafe Says:

Invited a business acquaintance Eric T. for an intro session. He wants to be a coach. Completed an intro session with Lann S. over the phone today. Building Momentum…

  44. Tina @ InnerDelight Says:

    Hi everyone,
I signed up yesterday and then realised I had to get my but into gear to get people booked in! So… after a few distractions decided to create a free session offer to email to everyone on my list, and also to all my friends.
It went out at around 7pm and within minutes I received enthousiastic replies:-)
I had my first session set up for today with a friend, Erik Klaassen, who was delighted to receive some support in reaching his goals and to keep growing. He’s a business analyst and we uncovered some roadblocks which have been slowing him down from moving forward and also created clarity in what he would need to reach his targets.
He ordered a tailor made audio to support him on his journey and committed to using it for the next 21 days. Big breakthrough!

When I sent the email out I wasn’t sure how people would respond but it has been delightful! Friends have posted it on forums and I have received emails from people all over the world to connect:-)
    How cool is that?!

Thank you David, for the nudge!
I have the next few days covered and am filling up the rest.
Tomorrow with Jescica Colenbrander, who would like some support on getting her business expanding.

Now i am heading over to the audio of the class; was a bit late here in Amsterdam!
I read people asking for buddies… if that’s part of the call, then I’m available.
On European time, so 6 hours ahead of EST.

Have fun everyone and shine your beautiful lights:-)

    blessings,

    Tina

  45. Dave Heasler Says:

Contacted a 4 colours Consultant struggling with his own busines. Had made a commitment to help one another however we could. He is considering it.

  46. Suzanna Says:

Day #2: I called a Wedding Planner that I had met previously to offer a complementary coaching call. She has since stopped working to care for her young twins. She declined at this time but took my information. I got her e-mail and encouraged her to pass the offer on.

  47. Suzanne Says:

I sent an email to a friend who said she would love to take me up on the offer. She is sick, though, so we will do a call when she feels a bit better.

  48. Patty Says:

I called Laura F, who I met at a recent business expo. I had previously emailed her and she had responded that she would call to schedule an appointment, but never did. She was grateful I called because I was on her list of things to do. Now, we’re scheduled for next Wednesday morning. I was terrified to call, and glad I did!

  49. Scott Says:

Hi Got the email from Rafe reminding me of my commitment. Sent out an email to a warm contact Arbin. Called a two friends Gord and Lindsey. Left message for Gord. Set apt with Lindsey for next week to do an intro call!
this is just what I needed to get me going. will be setting up an into evening in the next few weeks to super charge this.

  50. Wendy Says:

I made a bunch of calls today, reached one person (from the event last week). She’s still traveling, so we set up for me to call her Sunday after she gets home. I’m going out tonight, so will invite someone there. I did my consultation today with the person from yesterday (SB). She’s up to big things and wants to hire me, and expects to be ready within a month. We have a follow-up conversation set for two weeks from today.

  51. Irene Gutmann Says:

    Hi all,
I invited Karen M. yesterday just because I had met her at a BNI meeting. It was tough and she said no. After the call, I felt inspired. I e-mailed Reena M. and she responded yes – yay! I told my sister about it and she said she would take a session too. Thanks, David for the challenge and the tools. I am also bolstered up by the fact that we are all doing this together.

  52. Nicole Says:

Hi again! Okay I was just rereading through the notes and realized I forgot add the reason I contact my first person. Okay so again here it goes the right way. LOL

Kori – Friend of mine – She has been struggling in almost every area of her life and I have always just listened and nothing else. So I thought by offering her an exploratory session maybe we could work on the biggest thing for her and get her excited about her life. She agreed and so we have a date next Thursday.

  53. Ron Olsen Says:

    Hi,
I missed the call but just got the replay. I am very excited and blasted an email to my contact list. I would like to work with a buddy I am in the central time zone area of the US

  54. Josh C. Says:

I actually invited 2 potential clients today and got 1 for sure. They will begin next week. I sent out an email blast and got overwhelming response!! :)

  55. Ron Olsen Says:

I just listened to the audio replay and I am very excited to be involved in this challenge. I sent an e-mail broadcast to my contact list letting them know I will be contacting them.
I am looking for a buddy, I am in the central time zone area my email is rolsen@coachingbyhisdesign.com

  56. Jacleen Says:

Did intro session with Pete last night. He is unsure about whether he will take me up on a structured package, and that is ok, because I know he’s hurting and I think he will, eventually :-)

Today I invited my friend D, who started writing a book a few years ago and has not completed it. We scheduled an intro call for next Friday afternoon, 31st Oct.

David, I have to add my really big thanks for coming up with this Challenge. I had thought about doing it on my own, but I’m really glad I decided not to because this is really fun :-)

  57. Joshua Aragon Says:

Today I spoke with the director of a womens leadership institute about presenting the offer to their non-traditional womens leadership program participants ( approx 40 ). She denied my request to directly speak with them however did agree to allow me to give them a flyer to hand out as well as to send an email with the offer, that they will then forward on to the rest of the group, the 40, plus all past graduates of the program, numbering in the 100’s…

So no appointments setup, but a great potential client pool as they would be a likely group to participate in either group coaching, or individual leadership coaching. :-)

  58. Dr. Lorrie Lauer Says:

I am so excited. This is so amazing. See about post with Leilani, during our session yesterday, technical difficulties. Just finished session her session now. She agreed to coaching for 4 weeks. Money is a challenge for her right now. I knew that so I was thinking today what I could do. Then it hit me. She is an excellent massage therapist. I told her my fee is $497. She told me her fee is $85 an hr. We just set up 4 appts each. I told her that the difference would be my tip and to help her with gas since she is coming to my home to give me a massage each week. I love my job.

It gets even better. I talked to my friend Toni from Texas. I invited her because I knew she is wanting to take water exercise classes and write, and isn’t doing either of them. She said yes to the complementary session, and I said, “Do you have time and want to do the coaching session right now?” So we did. The hardest part for me was asking for the money. Then I thought about how David did it last night with me, and basically did the same thing. I told her it is $497 for 4 weeks, and normally the committment is for 3 months, but we’ll do it for one month and evaluate at end. She agreed, we set up the 4 sessions, and she’s sending the check in the mail. Yahoo!!

  59. Terre Says:

I’m just getting started so I was pretty nervous about approaching someone. I approached an acquaintance who is about to be an empty nester and booked my first introductory call.

  60. Danny Freedman Says:

Today I invited Brian H. on Facebook, we have a time scheduled for early next week. I am currently listening to the recording, and I know that this will be positive for me. I have also come up with a teleclass that I am extremely excited about! I could use a buddy, would be fun! I wish everyone here 5 – 10 new customers as a result of this months work. Get out there people, from my perspective the world could use a little more coaching :-)

  61. Lynette Lopes Says:

Today I invited Gary G., he is an entrepeneaur who hasn’t been abe to find his purpose. We have an appointment for next week. I am so excited.

  62. Tina Nies Says:

Day 2: I’m so inspired just by reading everyone’s posts! It’s fantastic to see how many people are overcoming hesitations about asking for money – that is something I have had a bit since I moved back to Michigan from California. So many people here complain about lack of money and many have never heard of life coaching and give me a puzzling look as if to say “you’ve been out in California too long” ;-)

Anyway, today I did receive a yes! I approached my Goddaughter’s mother, Christina. She has been having some personal issues and is very happy as a new mother, but not so happy in life in general. We are scheduled for next friday as she has that day off work.

  63. Elisabeth Says:

Today, I called my friend Michael to ask him about doing an exploratory session. He wasn’t there so I left a message, asking him to call me back and telling him the reason for my call.

I called him because he’s very much into personal growth and exploration and could also benefit from a career change/job change. Plus he’s been very supportive of me as I was going through challenging times, and I’d like to give something back to him.

I hope he’ll take me up on it.

Thinking about sending an offer to my self-help stuff email list ;-)

  64. Mary Kay Garrett Says:

I invited Jill S today. She was excited and we are setting up time for an introductory session next week. She sees the benefit in helping her get her life and career on track. She also plans on contacting a few friends that she thinks may be interested.

  65. Julie Colbrese Says:

Missed the call and am unsure how we are posting/logging our daily invitations—is this it? I met w/ a prospective client today and invited him to a workshop I am hosting early next month. He has agreed to attend and bring a guest who might be better suited to be a client. Also, got an email inquiry from a colleague who wants me to coach an employee of hers. I emailed back w/ rates & availability and hope to have her employee as a new client on Monday!

  66. Julie Colbrese Says:

Looks like maybe it’s better to include a name to keep these straight–my prospective clients for today are Jim and Janna.

  67. Dr. Lorrie Lauer Says:

I did not receive any info about how to get to audio replay and pdf for last nights call. I want to review it–and don’t know how. Please email me info at lorrielauer@juno.com. Thanks

  68. Suzanne Says:

WaHoo! I’m finding it easy to ask people and to get them to the introductory session. I’m starting with my “easy people” who I know will do it out of friendship. Unfortunately I know mostly poor people so as of yet I don’t know how I’m going to pull in those big paying clients! But hey, it’s only day 2! And really, you can’t win the Tour De France till you learn to balance on a bike. At this stage, do we REALLY need to know how to coach perfectly and be fully confident of filling our practice?

So one friend said she can’t afford it. But well, if doing an introductory session with me will help me out, O.K. Yes. She choose a topic and we’re doing the intro session at 3 tomorrow. \”/

  69. Faye Says:

Day 2… Called a lady I used to work with who has just had her hours reduced due to the current economic climate – she’s unsettled so I offered her a comp session and she’s booked in for next week!

  70. admin1 Says:

Hi Dr. Lorrie, I moved it to your juno address. Let me know if you get the info. You can find everything on the download page.

You did it just right Julie.

You are all doing great with issuing your invitations!

  71. Linda "Change is Inevitable" Says:

I am at the football today so I just asked Andy who I sit next to every match and he said he would love to have a session!

Why did I not think to ask him before?!?

  72. Wendy Says:

This challenge is awesome – it’s definitely getting me to do things I wouldn’t otherwise have done. If I hadn’t promised to make invitations at the concert last night, I’d have spent the evening talking only with my friends. Which is crazy, because a venue like this is full of musicians and other creative professionals, which is my niche.

Instead I smiled at and greeted everyone I met, and met as many new people as possible at the breaks. At the end of the evening, I made not one but two invitations, to an audience member I’d met at the break who turned out to be a writer, and to one of the performers, right after he told me he wished he could be a full-time musician but couldn’t make a living at it. Since that’s *exactly* what I help people do, all I had to do was hand him my card and say, let’s talk.

I gave my card to another performer as well, and made a nice connection with him. I didn’t have as clear an opening for an invitation with him and didn’t get his card, but I really could have – a lesson for next time. And I gave a card to a friend who paints and knows other creative artists, and invited him to make referrals. The writer also offered a couple of potential referrals, as did the woman I did the session with this afternoon.

And yes, I also made a nice connection with four dear friends, and gave some much needed support to one who was having a rough night. And enjoyed a really wonderful performance. I’m amazed how many powerful conversations I had in such a short amount of time. I drove home on a high – it’s wonderful what a little action will do for one’s outlook.

Also, earlier in the day, I sent a couple of bonus items to someone who’s doing an Amazon book launch in a couple of weeks. Working on some big stuff this weekend too. Thanks for the momentum!

    Total invitations so far: 3

I’m so inspired by everyone’s posts. It’s amazing how quickly things are happening for everyone. You guys are awesome!

  73. Tina @ InnerDelight Says:

Wow… I need a secretary to do all the planning! I have a total of 21 requests so far and still people sending it forward to their friends and connections. So I am sure I will have coached at least 30 people over the next month:-)
Today my friend jescica came over and we had a fabulous session to create clarity in what is holding her back from having her healing practise expand. The insights were great and very helpful, creating clarity as to which steps to take. When I asked her how she would rate her chance of getting to her goal by herself, she said ‘none’ at this rate! Then she gave it a 80-90% chance with my support so we are starting a 6 month program on Tuesday! I feel so blessed to be allowed to do what I do and make a difference! And it felt extra amazing since she is a good friend and happy to pay me my full fee of 1500 euros upfront!

I am amazed that I haven’t done this before so thank you David and everyone here for showing up and playing full out!

Have a great day and many blessings,

    Tina

  74. Tina @ InnerDelight Says:

does anyone know where to access the audio for the calls? thanks, tina

  75. Nicole Says:

    Hi:

I am so excited! I extended another invitation to a contact of mine.

    Name: David
Reason: Dave is already beginning a life change by replacing his teeth and changing some of his appearances. I thought that maybe he’d like to see what I do so I offered him an exploratory session.
Outcome: David was very excited. He said “yeah I want to work with someone to achieve some goals I have!” So we set an appointment for Monday evening.

On this note I realized just the power of asking a person is amazing. David knows I am a life coach and he never approached me and I never really brought it up until this challenge. I was excited by his response because he was excited that I asked. Amazing how just asking works.

thank you again David Wood for this challenge! I’m looking forward to calling my next person today.

  76. Nicole Says:

BTW I still need a buddy; is there one out there still????

  77. Lana Says:

Yesterday on Day 1, I told a friend about what I was doing and we’ve set up an Exploratory Coaching Session for Tuesday of next week! She said she has a lot of areas she’d like to improve and work on, so we will narrow it down to what’s most pressing. Can’t Wait!

In addition, yesterday I had an in-person Exploratory Coaching Session with a woman I didn’t know who I’m in an organization with and she’s interested in continuing with me after she returns from a long trip to Mexico. We will be working on coaching for business as she is a jewelry designer, a freelance writer, and has a vintage, aero-nautical pin-up company and wants to figure out balance, focus, and/or a plan for her pin-up company. I’m excited because she’s my first client for my “young creative professional” niche! If I like her jewelry, I will most likely set up a trade there because I love accessories!

  78. Coach Denise Says:

    Hello all,
Talked with 5 people got 2 meeting. If any one wants a buddy email me at Denise@askcoachDenise.com

  79. Dave Heasler Says:

Approached an existing client by email about coaching one of his long standing employees. Am confident he is going to go for it. Wouldn’t likely have even approached him on this without ‘The Challenge’

  80. Rikke Says:

    Hello
Got a new session with an old colleges there didnt know i am a coach.
Her name is Celine Olsen the 20. novenber.
    i still need a buddy? bookingkompagniet@gmail.com

  81. Lana Says:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I’m looking for a buddy! My schedule is so jammed that a buddy who would like to communicate mostly by email would be fabulous. I’m also available by phone a few times a week! :) If you’re interested, my email is lanaelizabeth@gmail.com.

Keep up the great work, team!

  82. Sharon Reus Says:

Day 3: Extended invite to an acquaintance, B.G., who is transitioning from being a mom to being a mom and employee. Invitation accepted, and we will schedule the date on Monday. Happy Saturday everyone, and good luck with your invitations!

  83. Cammilla Says:

Day 2: ask a friends mom, who is overwelmed and stressed in her life. She wasn’t interested. Regards, Cammilla (Denmark)

  84. Elisabeth Says:

Well, I asked someone I have previously coached through a lengthy major exam preparation (successfully) and am currently helping with another project, and she said NO.

She has friends for that kind of thing, she said, and prefers our relationship to stick to the professional stuff.

Ooookay. Actually, I can relate to that. So now: Next…

  85. Rafe Says:

Called and invited my friend Patty P. to sit down for a session. She is looking for direction in her life.

  86. Julie Colbrese Says:

Today’s invitation goes to John. I invited him because he was referred to me by another coach who has a conflict and cannot coach him. I left John an email message that I will call him on Monday to schedule an appointment to meet in person.
From Thursday, see previous posting, I invited Janna because she was referred to me by her boss. I emailed her boss my rates and availability and hope to have our coaching commitment secured by Monday.
From Friday, see previous post, I invited Jim because he also was referred to me by another client.
I also emailed a client, Carolyn, to let her know that she only has one session left and invited her to renew. I know this doesn’t count for the 30-day challenge as she is a current client, but wanted to capture it here anyway.
Looks like a lot of positive activity already!

  87. Jan Says:

I’ve identified about 30 people to focus on for contacting. I’ll add to the list as I go. Some would actually be corporate referral partners. I still would like to offer them a trial session so they understand what coaching is and how I work.

I invited three people by email. I find that in the corporate world at least, I get a better response back that way rather than leaving a v/m. One in particular, Lee, is in one of my two niches – corporate leaders in new roles who want to leverage their strengths to accelerate the learning curve. I let them know that I’m in the challenge, and that it will assist my professional development. It would be a win-win because they would walk away energized, clear, focused, and even jazzed and I would have one more person knowing what I do so they can pass on the word. If we end up working together, ALL THE BETTER.

  88. Helena Berggren Says:

Todays (Oct.25th) invitation went to another Anette. I hope to add her to the network of people with businesses complementing my coaching or of interest to my niche clients. She works as an organizations consultant and I’m guessing sitting in the client chair for once could give her some well deserved acknowledgement and encouragement (now why didn’t I put that in my invitation..).
Starting follow-up calls on my invitations on Monday.

  89. Wendy Says:

This challenge is *definitely* getting me to do way more than I even imagined I would.

I called and reached DA today, one of the people from last week’s event who I’d been playing phone tag with. I don’t usually make calls on weekends, but the three-hour time difference was getting in the way, and this seemed like (and was) a good time to catch him. He wants to make a film – right in my niche – and I love his energy. I answered some questions, offered an intro call, and we scheduled for Friday.

I also had lunch earlier with four friends. Two of them were actually clients of mine years ago, early in my coaching business. I’ve felt for a number of years that I’m past that stage of asking friends – did that, worked great, don’t need it any more, but since I’d promised to make invitations daily and wasn’t sure I’d reach DA, I thought, why not, and I invited all four. Given what I know of their current circumstances, I didn’t expect any to say yes, but one (of the former clients) surprised me by saying she’d been thinking about starting again. We didn’t schedule, but I’m in touch with her daily, so we’ll have that conversation soon.

Total invitations today (on a weekend!): 5
    Total so far: 8

  90. Irene Gutmann Says:

    Hi all,
I sent out part of my bult e-mail. I don’t want to send it to more than 100 people at once or I fear that I won’t be able to keep up – is that okay.

I invited Yolanda R. because she is in the human service field and probably would enjoy this. Also because she’s very nice and I’m still nervous about this.

Big question – I am feeling funny inviting family, church acquaintences, and friends of my family members. I am fearing that they will be offended at me mixing business with personal relationships. What do you think?
Are these just “gremlins” or is it legitimate.

  91. Wendy Says:

For Nicole and anyone else who hasn’t found the call notes and audio, everything is at http://www.solutionbox.com/30daydownload.htm.

Want to add to my daily stats (so I can keep track):

    Sessions scheduled: 2
    Sessions delivered: 1

  92. Mary Says:

Today’s invitation went to Daphne, an old friend from grad school who I saw last weekend at a reunion, and who e-mailed me saying she was so intrigued by what I had said about coaching, she wanted to learn more. So I e-mailed her today and suggested some times this week for us to have a sample session by phone. This one was as easy as falling off a log!

  93. Irene Gutmann Says:

    Hi again,

I also realized that I didn’t give reasons for some people I offered to so here goes: Reena M. – because she is nice and open minded. She can also be a good referral person for me. My sister just surprised me – she is doing it for the fun of it and I’m coaching her because she said “yes” anb because she needs more proactivity in her life. I followed up on a past offer for a session to Eva because she said that she never pursued her love of dance. I also followed up on Dara from a networking event 2 weeks ago – we had talked about a swap.

Total offers so far: 5 – that’s huge for me!

  94. Rachel Says:

I contacted someone in a class who I just knew I’d like to work with. She said yes we have a session scheduled for tomorrow!

  95. jill wells Says:

    hi everyone.
i have just had a chance to listen to the introductory session and have made my list and called 2 friends, so thankyou David.
one problem i am having is working out time differences from australia to you, can you help

  96. Terre Says:

    Day 2
I extended an introductory session to an associate who is struggling with her self esteem. She has expressed certain desires for herself but is more vigilant about living up to the opinions/images of others. I approached her about receiving coaching to create the image she wants from the inside out.

I was shocked when she said “Yes” to the introductory offer. Since I’m just starting out (on my own) I am thrilled with the reception. I’m looking for more experience and am anxious about asking for money from people I know. I’m going to branch our more next week. Both opening sessions will be held within the next ten days.

I’d be a great partner, if you are looking for someone encouraging with whom you can be accountable

  97. Suzanne Says:

Today’s invite (Oct. 25) went via email to a friend who is a lot of fun. I have no idea if she will take me up on the offer, and am waiting to hear back from her, but I do know that I would be happy to coach her because she is fun to be around.

  98. Suzanna S. Says:

    Day 3:
Contacted Walter, who attended a presentation I did recently. He seemed open to what I had presented so I followed up and invited him to a complementary session. He agreed and thought his wife would also be interested. Appt. scheduled for Monday eve.

  99. Tina Nies Says:

Day 3: I invited my friend, Susan. She owns a coffee/bagel shop and had it for sale, but recently changed her mind, though she told me today, that she may still sell it in the next few months, but isn’t exactly sure what she wants to do. So, she is the perfect candidate.

She said it’d be a good idea for her, but didn’t commit to an appointment… yet. I plan to follow up with her on Monday to get a set date/time.

I also am working on my email blast, I have saved it, but not sent it yet. I am going to do an update to my website tonight/tomorrow and send the emails out after that.

  100. Mimi Says:

Today I talked with a friend, Doris. She and I volunteer for the same nonprofit organization. I’ve known her a while and invited her to an introductory session. She is a very busy woman between her volunteer work, her work work, and her family. Her reaction was that she didn’t really have the time. We talked a little more and she agreed to talk again later next week to discuss the possibility of making an appointment. I’ve put her on my calendar and will contact her next Wednesday.

  101. Patty Says:

Today I emailed Lori H., a woman I knew in my previous career in construction, and whose path recently crossed again with mine. She is up to big things, and would definitely benefit from a coaching session. I’ll let you know her response.

I definitely see the value of extending invitations every day, and even though I have been in business for some time, it’s not a habit I had developed. I have started a list of those I want to include. I’m looking forward to developing this habit, and so appreciate this chance to do it, with all of you!

Thanks for your inspiring posts, and best wishes for your continued success!

    Patty @ LifebyDesign.biz

  102. Jacleen Says:

I invited a friend whom I haven’t seen for quite some time to an intro session on Facebook. She emailed back saying she has a lot on with starting a new business but that she will keep it in mind. I’ve replied back asking if she might know someone who would like to make a change in their life, so we’ll see. 

  103. Jacleen Says:

oops, forgot to mention why i invited Janet on FB… we were fellow members of a womens investment group a year or so ago and i was interested to see how she’d gone with what she’d learnt. she’s had a baby in that time and now that she’s focusing on her new business she has her hands full.

  104. Lynette L Says:

I invited Linda D. to try a session, she is out of work and doesn’t know where she wants to go next. We are scheduled for next week.

  105. jerry Says:

i did two intro sessions today, one with Heather and one with Frank
Frank signed up for three months at $450 a month

  106. Scott Gullion Says:

I was returning a book to a friend of mine while I was waiting for her, Margret a woman I have never met before saw the title of the book about EMDR and asked if that is what I do…. well there’s an easy invitation to open a conversation. She’s professor at the University of Calgary (for the last 19 years) and is doing some outside private instruction to businesses that aproach her, well this is exactly what I’ve been coaching trainers to and speakers to do for the last few years (I just haven’t formated it as coaching, till now) we’ll set a time next week for do an initial assesment and then I’ll attend a few of her classes as part of her coaching. She really wants to have her classes become engaging. She teaches english literature.
I’m also in the market for a car (a small SUV) so the first one I look at is owned by a semi-retired gentleman, we go for a test drive and he just opens up about all the Tramatic events he’s been through in the last several years. The car was a standard (which my wife “won’t” learn to drive) so I didn’t buy the car, I did get the set up to call him tomorrow about coaching him through his past few years of tramatic incidences. I do “Tramatic Incident Reduction” or TIR (it permanently reduces or removes the negative charge from tramatic events, or experiences). WOW and today I was thinking who am I going to call. one fell into the seat beside me and another set up for tomorrow.
Oh and I bought a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe for about Half what they bought it for new. What a day!

  107. Ron Says:

Wow, I did my email blast and had 2 reply back to me. I am playing a little phone tag as well.

    Ron

  108. Joshua Aragon Says:

I used David’s email template ( wonderful by the way! ) and invited 5 of my friends whom I know are always searching for just ‘the right’ business or venture to start. I haven’t heard back, but will be calling them to follow up on Monday.

I invited them because they are always searching and never seem to find exactly what they’re looking for… I’d venture to say that this is because they really don’t know what they’re looking for, or what’s missing. So I know they could benefit from my Life Purpose Coaching, as well as my Purposeful Entrepreneur Bootcamp.

  109. Danny Freedman Says:

Invitation extended to Jared, he is a musician and a long time friend. Session is first thing tomorrow morning. It is nice to see the inspiration, keep it up, What is a full practice for you? Mine is 25 clietns. currently at 6 would like to be at 15 by the end of the challenge. ready for a buddy. danny@evolution-lifecoaching.com

  110. Mary Kay Garrett Says:

Did an exploratory session with Michelle S. today. She invented a product she is working to take to market and wants to learn how to have balance and organization in her life. She had positive results just with the introductory session and will let me know this week her decision to sign up.

  111. Dave Heasler Says:

Today contacted a collegue struggling with new responsibilities. A rather intimidating individual whom I would never have approached without the incentive of the 30 Day Challenge.

Momentum is building. Excited to see where it will lead.

  112. Dave Heasler Says:

Above posting was somehow given the wrong day and time. Its after midnight here and the contact was by email. It counts for my third day in a row with personal approaches. :-)

  113. Suzanne Says:

I invited A. to a complimentary introductory session. She was estatic as she is contemplating a career shift. The only thing is I must not breath a word to her Mom, my good friend. \”/ to be set up next week when she has her work schedule.
Today I did an introductory call with K., who “wants more love in her life.” We’ll finish up in a few days because she is recouping from an accident & got tired. But she realized she was sloughing in some negative patterning for failure and came up with several strategies to positively impact them. A disabled single mom, she doesn’t have much money. But, unless someone has another suggestion, I’m planning to invite her into a coaching relationship for 3 months, telling her what I charge and accepting what she would be comfortable paying. What do you all think?
My introductory session with E was amazing. She is a writing professor, but experienceing severe writer’s block. Asking her If she had – quoted back to her her words – what would she have? what would that do for her?. As she verbalized that she got quite excited and agreed she would expand on that and write as much as she could along that line. Very fulfilling for me and I’m excited to see what she comes up with. And of course if it frees up her writing her story.

  114. Suzanne Says:

Um. This is the 25th here on the Pacific Coast & I assume it will count as it’s only 11:25 PM my time. \”/ Thanks SO MUCH for this awesome powerful experience!!!!

  115. Faye Says:
