Talk about stepping up and owning your space. That's the secret to making it happen ... stepping into it. I encourage people to do this all the time and still have difficulties with my own commitment to owning who I want to be. Today in an informal conversation with a client/colleague and friend she threw it back at me and encouraged me to promote my credibility and experience to my niche network. So that's exactly what I am going to do. Instead of just posting a link to a survey I want them to fill out, in my next communications to them, I will provide them with the background that supports why I am THE go-to support person for socially & environmentally responsible businesses and professionals. This post inspired me to think BIG, and also to use my pre-coaching life and career as an advertising executive rather than throw out the baby with the bathwater. Like you, I have been coaching my clients for years. I have also been helping them articulate their thoughts and brand identities using my writing, marketing and communications skills. I've also had a lot of experience presenting ideas to a group in entertaining ways, so public speaking is nothing new to me. I see that I have unique talents and tools that can set me apart and give extra value to my coaching clients. And that there is nothing to stop me from getting someone famous to write (or at least approve) a foreword for my book!! Thanks for the ideas. Lisa Great post.
