David,
Thanks for this! I bought your CoachStart Manaul last year (one paying client so far and lots of Exploratory Sessions). Also hired Falven as my coach for 2 months!). My job now is to set up my coaching business so I too can share with others the gifts bestowed upon me. I know, from personal experience, that man is created for the sake of woman, and woman is created for the sake of man. When such men and women join together and practice authentic love ALL of life's demands and promises can be used to manifest our divinity. My thoughts go out through space and wish for you the finest things in life.

Sincerely,
Jack LaValley

Maxine - awesome job!

Peter - that’s the way of it.

Jack - I’m working on it! :-)

Dianne - love to hear your dialogue.

Tina - fair question! Here’s what happened:
I went on the medication. It was still a REALLY hard experience, but when I switched to half the dosage by accident I realized how much it was helping. At the same time I ate well, exercised, worked with my coach, went to the Byron Katie school, discovered Shamanic Emotional Release, and eventually nutritional therapy (supplements). I think the last three helped the most. But the biggest thing was getting out of a relationship that was triggering me, rather than serving me.
6 months after starting medication I tapered off. It’s now been another 6 months without a pill.

Life now seems different, in that I still have experiences of fear coming up, often at night, but now I have a range of tools in how to listen to it and process it. It’s like I got my brown belt in letting difficult feelings come up. I wouldn’t be surprised if I never have to go on medication again given the power of these tools. And - if i choose to, i’ll do it with peace knowing it’s short term and the cycle ends.

Thanks for asking.

Thank you for your honest dialogue David.

My personal journey for a better self quite frankly has sucked in many ways and the anxiety and depression I have experienced seems, while I am there, to be deep and everlasting. I have refused to go on medication for many reasons, one of which is being afaid of the unknown state that medication might bring and the fact that it feels like I'm giving up on my own ability to cope. My big thing with trying medication is I know I do feel better in a shortish time frame, it doesn't last forever, it gets shorter and the hole isn't quite as deep anymore and I also come out feeling I've resolved something, so I perservere in self development strategies, but seemingly, inevitably, quite suddenly sometimes, get bitten again.

I am going to try a dialogue and see what comes out. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It has helped me, on day that hasn't been great.
Cheers

Hi David,

I too would like to say I admire and thank you for sharing. Would you care to share what the outcome was?

Dialogue is a good tool, but it is more effective if you know the true voice of the other person. Perhaps you were trying to find your own true voice, but then you only have your own perspective. When I'm trying to define my own perspective, I do what is called Free Writing, which is what your dialogue sounds like to me. When I am looking for a different perspective, and no one else is available, I try to write a dialogue with someone I am familiar with and know has a different view from mine. Maxine's dialogue sounds more like she knows God and how he might respond. ( I'd like to thank Maxine for sharing also) That way I am more likely to find a different perspective, which in turn leads to a stronger understanding of how I feel.

I'm curious to what your dialogue written with a personal life coach would be. Would it have gone differently? I am just getting set up to practice life coaching as a professional. I would have asked you some questions that I feel you needed to answer, that you didn't ask yourself, in your dialogue. I'm also curious to what questions you would ask a client, if they were facing the same situation. [Peter from Australia, mentioned that professionals don't seem to do for themselves what they can do for others, which is why coaches should have coaches :-) ]

On a more personal note:
It seems to me that everyone is seeking what God promises to give ( Peace, Freedom, Love, etc.) but refuse to seek it from Him or acknowledge Him for giving it to them.

Thank-you again for sharing.

David:

I have been coaching for a few years; and I read your stuff for motivation and direction. I've tried to do it for money and it has never worked for me; yet, I am driven to write and coach beyond a level I can fight, so I just do it and give it away for free. I am broke but happy with that for now.

I, too have a God dialog; I'll write it up and share it! I wanted to take this moment to shout out to you because I was so touched by your experience. Thanks for overcomming whatever you had to, to share this! I will be praying for you. Love you, man. Go well, knowing- it's all good!

Great comment Jack - and for some people that may be the case - for others with differring purpose it may not. It seems to me that we can easily assume and pressume that everyone will be best fufilled by doing the things "most" do. Is it any wonder we then spend sleepless hours trying to understand what it is to be an individual and be comfortable with it? For everything there is a season etc etc.
