Congrats for the road you are taking. It reminds me of similar anecdote from John Gray who also rejected a big publisher for his famous Mars and Venus book (and ended up selling dozens of millions of them later on, with a better deal for his side). So keep following your instinct. And thank you for the great content you provide.

Congrats on sticking to your values David. Publishers like to take control and strangle what they can out of creative value. If they could they’d have renamed it “best selling money earner for X publishing” (though that is a little obvious).
