woman called into boss’s office. He says we’ve had to adjust your paycheck this
month.
She looks worried and says “look, I know I took
three weeks off but I had the kids, and I was sick….”
He says “we doubled it. It’s not what you do anymore. We just like who you are” (serious, kind smile)
pan on stunned woman’s face (holding check in both hands, looking at it, him)
Get Paid For WHO YOU ARE

3) WILSON

In the kitchen woman calls out “Hunny have you seen Wilson?”
Next scene Wilson (yes the volleyball from the movie Cast Away staring Tom Hanks) is in a first class seat on an airplane with a hawiian belly dancing bobble head sitting next to him smiling. next he’s getting a humanitarian award. Next he’s speaking on stage, but not doing anything, and the audience is getting restless….He’s chilling on the beach with a laptop, he’s playing with the family (wife is a baseball, with little ping pong balls running around). Next Wilson possibly steaming with model in bed next to him. Someone asking for an autograph. Next scene Wilson pulling up in a limo to the house. Finally, Wilson on the front lawn. Boy walks out of the house picks up Wilson and yells “Here he is mom.”
Next scene black with words in white read “Wilson costar with Tom Hanks in hit movie Cast Away”
Have voice over say: “Get paid for who you are”.

4) NO PANTS (work from home)
David in video skype conference with board room full of serious suits on
other end. David dressed in a formal jacket and tie, maybe
pitching the idea of “getting paid for who you are.”

then, as the camera gradually pulls back we learn he is not wearing
pants.

the tag can credit technology for saving the economy by producing less
pants. maybe this is what you/the guy is pitching to the execs. his
argument is that we are being wasteful by producing so many pair of
pants in an age when we are only seen from the waist up. He stands to
show the execs he’s not wearing pants. from behind we only see his
bare ass. the execs see much more, evident by their repulsed reactions.

then the tag: get paid for who you are. work from home, make a difference

5) WORK FROM ANYWHERE
Guy on a conference call running a meeting – or a teleclass training people.
can only see his lips talking on phone, ear pieces
someone on call asks him to write something down and he hesitates…”ummmm….”
it pans out to him on a rock face, and he says…”ah, can you email me?”
“Thanks, now Bill – what’s your goal?” as he reaches up to a ledge…and camera pans back for
panaramic shot showing the scope

Work from home, Work from anywhere.

6) EXISTING VIRAL FOOTAGE

use the viral footage that is already out there…..

Ive seen this youtube where a guy is holding a cigarette in his mouth lights a match, flips it over his shoulder and somehow miraculously lights his cigarette

Ive seen a big hefty man naked in some kind of thong dancing on stage

ive seen crazy kids breaking bones doing all kinds of crazy stunts

an elderly woman getting down in spandex to the song baby got back

7) INDIVIDUALITY
Sunny Pool scene family of two with bathing suits on. (could be touching, moving)

Opening shot father putting zinc oxide under 3 year olds eyes. Wife calls out can you help Joe son age 5 with his flippers. Next scene Dad goes over with zinc oxide and puts it next to son on the chair he is sitting on. Dad is kneeling in front of 5 year old who is sitting on a chair having difficulty putting the flippers on. Shot is on dad and sons feet not on sons head. 3 year old Girl walks by as she over hears dad saying to his 5 year old son. Who do you want to be when you grow up. The girl responds he should be a pickle head or (some remark like Go Diego go or Nemo etc.) A shot of the wife bikini lounging on deck chair sun glasses reading. Wife looks over and smiles big grin lowers glasses to take a better look. Next shot of sons feet in flippers standing. Camera pans up full body shot of son. Son took the zinc oxide smeared it in his hair and made a Mohawk hand print of zinc oxide on his face with diving mask on his forehead with snorkel. Looks at his dad and answers the question “Me” . He puts the mask and snorkel on and jumps in the pool. The next scene the family is all in the water with zinc oxicide smeared in their hair to make Mohawks.

Next week I’m in Hollywood to film a 60 second viral video for the book trailer.

We’re thinking a funny video like a mastercard ad, that doesn’t refer to the product until the end when you see a simple tag line.

I need your ideas for a video script/story. The selected idea will win the Internet Clients Professional Training Program (retailing at $2,995) and an ad in my newsletter to 65,000 coaches. (Please post publicly here – I’ll be able to see if you were the first with it).

SOME INPUT/CONTEXT FOR YOU
- The book is called ‘Get Paid For Who You Are – Share What You Love Online, Impact Lives, Work From Anywhere, and Free Up Your Time’. And the tag line at the end should be ‘Get Paid For Who You Are – www.GetPaidForWhoYouAre.com’

the book teaches 5 simple steps to create a life of freedom….
- Location Freedom to work from home or Hawaii
- Time Freedom to work 2 days a week or take 3 months off
- Financial Freedom to have a second income or never worry about money again, and
- Inner Freedom, to express who you are, do what you love, and make a difference in the world

Don’t try all these ideas, just create a funny video idea that makes one of these points….

Can’t wait to see your ideas!

David

[UPDATE: please now comment at the new post here.]

2. FEATURE: Why Am I Not Getting Clients From My Intro Sessions?

You keep offering free sessions to help bring in more clients. You think the sessions are going great, but at the end of the calls they say, “Thanks, but I’m not interested right now.” So why aren’t you converting these sessions into clients?

Who Are You Asking?

Who are you asking to sessions? Only people you know? Only people through your web site? It might be time to expand your reach. Offer sessions to people who you’ve just met or friends of friends. Keep looking for opportunities to extend the invitation.

The more invitations, the more times you can get a yes.

Are the people you are asking looking for big change or are they happy with their lives as they are? If they don’t want change, they may not be ready for coaching.

How Are You Asking?

When you ask for an exploratory session do you say, “Look, can you do me a favor and set up a free session with me so I can practice my coaching on you?” Or are you asking in a way that allows them to expect the invitation to coaching?

You can say, “Let’s have a call to see what we could work on that you could turn into your highest priority.” Or, “I’d love to find out what you are working on right now to see if I could help with that. Shall we set up a session?”

How Inspired Are They?

While you were doing your trial session did the potential client seem excited by possibilities? Maybe thinking, “I never thought I could have that, but now I know I can!” Or was it a more ho-hum experience? What can you do to generate that excitement?

Ask For Feedback

An important way of finding out what can be improved in your intro sessions is to ask the potential client. Ask for feedback at the end of the call or a couple days later. Ask questions such as:

What did you think coaching might have provided you with?

What did you get out of the call?

Were you inspired by our session?

What stopped you from signing up as a client?

* * *

Action:

1) Invite at least one person to an intro session whom you wouldn’t normally ask.

2) Ask for feedback from at least one client after an introductory session.

2) Share what you learned at the BLOG.

Enjoy,

2. FEATURE: How Far Did You Come in 2009?

Before you go on to conquer the world in 2010, don’t you think it’s important to celebrate how far you have come this year?

Look back.

What have you accomplished?

What are you proud of?

And so importantly – what are you grateful for? (Because gratitude not only feels good – it generates growth.)

I’ll start. Below I’ll share what I’m proud to have accomplished this year, and what I’m grateful for.

But don’t read it passively. Oh no.

At the bottom I’m going to ask you to write YOUR Celebratory for 2009.

As you read mine, ideas will spark for what you can celebrate this year. Then I’ll ask you to go straight to the blog and post for the world to see. By sharing your accomplishments you’ll inspired others to make magic happen this year, as well as be inspired by what others have posted.
