Hi guys,

This one is a personal request.

Someone told me today my newsletters have improved their life, and I realised I’m not aware of the impact I’m making to you guys on a personal level.

Oh, theoretically I know it’s there, but I work from my computer at home so I never get to SEE the impact. And I’d like to FEEL it.

So if anything I’ve done, said or written has made an impact on your life at a Personal level, and you have a moment and the inclination, I’d like to hear about it here: Post Comment.

I am inspired by a man I have never met. He inspires me to keep moving, believes in my abilities and seeks my opinion concerning how he can improve his company. His energy is infectious and it radiates throughout the internet-based world. When I look at his carrot-topped hair, I smile as if he is a friend I have had since childhood. When I cannot face the rest of my life(let alone my emails), I continue to open the mail I get from him. I have asked myself why I care to respond on today…because I really believe this ‘strangerfriend’ appreciates hearing from me. So here it goes: He inspires me. He gives without reservation. His cup of positive energy overfloweth and I am blessed by the overflow.

Hi David,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I finally realized what I wanted to be when I grow up and you were my first source of information on life coaching. Two years later I am still reaping the benefits.
I appreciate your willingness to share your vast knowledge, resources and most of all your heart and sense of humor.
As a new coach, I have many moments of uncertainty and I can’t tell you how many times your newsletter shows up just in time with just the information I need bringing me clarity and the courage to carry on with my amazing journey. I also loved the video of you in the morning:)

Hello David!

I have received your Solution Box newsletter for the last 3 years.I was taking a coaching instructional course and found they lacked the business savvy needed to really put a coaching business together. I ultimately searched for and found “First 50 Clients” and your newsletter.

Since then, I have been up and down with coaching, but whenever a newsletter comes into the inbox, I read it (and now, 3 years later, I subscribe to at least 10 ezines for coaches). Here is what I know for sure.

You give a solid “freebie” in every newsletter. You give solid advice, tips, things to consider, etc. without it being a lead to buy a product. Sure, you plug your products (or others’ products) as you see fit, but it’s not in every ezine.

I feel you do want us to succeed as coaches. I believe everything you offer is of great value and I have never regretted any purchase from you as I have often gained more than I thought I would.

While I do believe you have every right to make money helping coaches (as many do) you take the responsibility seriously to actually help coaches whether they pay you or not (through the ezines).

Once in a while, people will email me and ask about a great resource for coaching and I always tell them that you and Solution Box are only one of two sites I recommend. That while they other coaches may very well want to help people, I feel very sucked in to HAVE to buy or I’ll miss something that is essential. You never hard sell us. You always give more value than you charge. I think that’s why you have my trust and so many others’ trust as well.

I hope you go back to the free teleclasses, and keep on helping the coaches that really need you in so many ways. I’m personally really grateful for you and Solution Box.

May you know the difference you make in each life affects so many others.

I’ve enjoyed your dose of inspiration – particularly in sharing new ideas, personal insights, breakthroughs (and struggles). I love the DIY tools and especially the video you made to show your journal process, with you waking up first thing in the morning! You’re prepared to be REAL and take a risk and this is admirable – you practise what you preach. I am a counsellor and life-coach in UK and dealing daily with confidentiality and one-to-one clients can be a solitary business, so your newsletters are a great way for me to feel in touch with someone else out there in the same business.

Dear David,

One of the best things to happen to my family this year came as a suggestion from your site. That “thing” is MailWasher!!! My wife was complaining bitterly of all the spam she has been getting through her website and I had tried everything I knew of to lower the volume of spam.

Well, with MailWasher Pro, we each can BOUNCE that email back on the spammers! And it appears, over the past month, that the spam is decreasing as I suppose the spammers are taking our names off their lists due to bounced mail.

Do to my interest in becoming a life coach I found Solution Box. Signing up to be a subscriber has made a difference in my life. I haven’t been able to do formal coaches training YET. Using the skills I already possess I started writing a weekly newsletter that is part of my blog page as well as being sent out to anyone who will give me their email address. I recently sent out a thank you for prayers that helped me find a new job after months of searching. One of my subscribers wrote back and said “I hope your still going to be doing your weekly commentary, it helps me stay focused and on track. I really enjoy reading it!” Wow, David, what you do for me I am now doing for others…the goodwill just keeps going. By the way. It has also helped me stay focused on my goals especially when you let us blog our goals for everyone to see.

Receiving your newsletter has made a difference for me. I am currently enrolled in classes that educates how to be a coach. I am also in the process of starting up my own coaching business. The last newsletter that I received discussed issues about the unconscious thoughts that we all have. Then a tool was introduced about how to use transference of thoughts. This discussed different ways to change your perceptions and thought processes on the sub-conscious level. I can see myself using this technique to use a coaching tool. I would like more information on this subject.

Hi David,
I love your approach! I´ve been working with my own personal development for alot of years & have had contact with alot of different coaches, lecturers, “transform your lifers” & you come across to me as someone who´s “real”, not “just” in it for the money, etc, I get the feeling you really care about what you are doing and the people you are doing it to 🙂 This is a BIG compliment coz there´s alot of bla bla out there & sometimes it can get a little OTT. To top it all you make me laugh & that is the best therapy ever 😀 Thanks!

ps. You sent me your newsletter yesterday evening with a recommendation for Re/Transformation and I signed up and did the 12 min “delve into my subconcious” straight away and I must say I was very impressed. I´ve never come across that method before & I came up with some major insights into why my finances are such a mess & the believes behind them even though I have & do alot of meditation & different techniques. Before doing the exercies I was feeling really cloggy in the brain & had been feeling like that for a few days at least. After the exercise I felt lighter & my head was clear & to top it all today I went through my “lovely home” & finished off some many loose ends & tidying up that I had meant to do for weeks/months & hadn´t been motivated to do. So thanks an absolute million for that! I am certainly checking out more of RE/Transformation.

On how you have positively impacted my life…just read your newsletter RIGHT before your invitiation to post on the blog arrived in my inbox. As I read the bottom portion…about the changes for you since India…I thought “wow, I like where you are going” and I hope for similar good feelings for myself. I wanted to reach out to you and simply care…sometimes life gets so busy that “seeing humanity” is forgotten. I saw more of humanity today when I read your writings in that newsletter and could relate…that improved my life. Thank you, h

Yesterday’s newsletter helped me tremendously. I’ve been standing on the cusp of moving my life forward and yesterday I made myself face my fear of responsibility. I know on a superficial level that I can do anything. Now I have to convince my psyche that I’ll allow it. I’ve been so frustrated with myself. My fear of failing has completely prevented me from trying and guaranteed that I would fail.
My hisband made a poster for me ten years ago that says, “Desire Overwhelms Fear!” Whenever I’m afraid to try something it helps me to focus on what I want instead of what I’m afraid of. The regular newsletters and random emails I get from David help me focus on what I want even when I’m not afraid of the alternative. I’me currently dealing with post-pardum depression and its like having my own cheering section; a steady supply of encouragement when I most need it.

I’ve been subscribed a long time. There’s not direct impact, as much is merely promotional (sometimes very promotional) or associate-promotional. My coaching is also rather mega-niched so not all is relevant to me.

However, there’s much indirect impact on me. Am inspired by your:
1.Spontaniety and trust in things
2. Resourcefulness in areas peripheral
3. Initiative in taking it up a rung
4. Dedication to building community
5. Ethical underpinnings

The impact you have made on me is to deepen a lesson I had already learned. As a student of Dr. Maring Seligman, I have written gratitude letters and made gratitude visits regularly. When I read your “Shock them. Thank them.” article in a SolutionBox newsletter, I was reminded to pick up the phone and call. You raised my awareness, I took action and the impact has been improved communications with two dear but estranged loved ones. Thanks again!

One of the articles you published indicated that in order to give fully of yourself you must first learn to give to yourself and that sometimes being “selfish” is the best way to be selfless. This has completely changed my perspective and I now take better care of my health, both mental and physical and find that I am now better equipped to help others. Many thanks, a sound piece of advice which I have passed on to many an is being very well used here in Scotland.

Its not been huge or life changing at this stage, but its a constant reminder of why I’m trying to make changes in my life, build my ability as a coach and get my business going. Your newsletter/ email bulletins anchor me immediately back into being focused on coaching, the skills, the thoughts, the reflection that is necessary to keep learning and improving and drag me out of my every day monotony of being a FT mother, the school run, the shopping and being a trailing spouse who still doesn’t now which country she will be in in 3 months time for the 3rd month in a row – so you offer me necessary distraction, then focus, then enjoyment of what I read and what you share. So thank you.

I dip in and out of your inspirational communications whilst on my own transformational journey and I love to be in touch with fellow travellers who are living the dream. I am getting there – you are part of my support network – though as you say – you don’t know me and you don’t even know you are doing it. I like the way you stay connected to everyone who connected to you along their journey with absolutely no obligations or expectations.

Since then I’ve kind of got swamped with other work and have not read your newletters regularly, but your email comes at an excellent time as I’ve just signed up an important client as ato be mentored and I need to get on top of things again. WOW! Earlier today, after reading Create 47, I, again, mentally blessed you, David, for sharing your life experiences with me – and showing me what is possible by simply doing what each of us came to this planet for – to constantly and joyfully express personal desires to the Universe FULLY EXPECTING FRUITION! Your Newsletters have cemented for me: There is NO END to the glory!! Life offers me infinite opportunity to create and express EVERY MOMENT!

I have naturally come to live from a place of “My life is my job is my life” as I go about my days. You have blown the doors off of my previous thinking with your colorful story (and suggestion) of contacting a school teacher. I, also, appreciated the story on Michael of CareerRocketCoaching. A few months ago, I listened intently to a recorded conference call offered in one of your newsletters. The contents of your publication reinforces (for me): I am here to THINK and FEEL and BE BIGGER IDEAS!!

I have decided to be more earnest than ever before in my alignment with truth. Your newsletters have resonated with me on a spiritual level. I’ve accepted that I have sourced your truth on my journey (Thanks for desiring to share your truth!) – and it is no accident that we (you and I) are impacting each others’ lives. But, really, what else is there?

I’ve been receiving your newsletters for several months, and have been “growing myself” into a fuller and more glorious expression of life right along with you – in my own way, in my own time, on my own path. (I, initially, found you on the web when I was considering becoming a coach.) At this point in my life, my consciousness of love is the greatest it’s ever been. I can tell that you, too, in your natural evolution, are experiencing a greater consciousness of love (for self AND for others – who are, ultimately, just extensions of self). And I ask you, “AIN’T LOVE GRAND?!?!”

Frank Butterfield’s Re/Transformation was icing on my cake today!! I checked out his website, signed up for his newsletter, forwarded info on his site, and engaged in his audio exercise to peaceful and glorious results! (In the past,I have forwarded your 50 Questions, newsletters, and site name, too!)

Hey David!

Early on I received a great audio promotion that helped me think big. It also helped with several basics of building a coaching business.

I learned:

-How much to charge my clients. And so far I don’t think I have lost a client based on my fee. But it has made a big difference in following my dream of becoming a full time coach.

-I learned to increase my fee after the first 10 paying clients.

-I learned the ups and downs of offering free sessions. So far it has served me well to have complimentary sessions.

-I started my own e-newsletter called Inspire and that was in part thanks to you

-One of the comments made by a hugely successful coach was that you should build a business in such as a way that it can be sold. That has definitely impacted the way I coach my clients. It makes so much sense.

My next step is to start to train coaches who will work for me and continue to build my brand.

-I love your enthusiasm for coaching! That is an attitude I seek to emulate!

I have found SolutionBox to be a really nice resource in the last few months. I am in the last few months of my coaching certification through the Hudson Insitute and have found a number of great supplemental articles on the website and various mailings.

Definitely gives me something to aspire to from a marketing standpoint!

Sometime in 2004, a woman I knew only from the Internet asked me, “What do you know about life coaching?” I’d heard of the term, and as a longtime taker of personal growth courses and participation in things where coaching took place, I had some idea, so I replied, “I know something about it, why?” She told me she was considering a career change, and wanted me to take a look at a website and give her my opinion. It was David Wood’s site. I believe it was http://www.becomeacoach.com that I first looked at, and then Solution Box. I was immediately intrigued, and getting the idea that there was possibly a career for me I’d never considered (or really knew about) before. I was also impressed that David learned his coaching chops at Landmark in New York (which is right around the corner from my job), since I did the Forum in 1991. I became a subscriber, and read all the newsletters sent to me. I wasn’t aware at the time, but each one led me closer and closer to making a leap of faith. My friend Barbara ultimately decided this was not for her. Then I got a newsletter with David announcing that the school he co-founded, ICA, was now accredited by the ICF, and that the price would soon go up. I began to take a more urgent view, got some feedback from a few people on whether or not I might pursue this, and then took the ICA assessment quiz. The results told me that I was “already a coach” and it was “about time” I got paid for it. I took a deep breath and contacted the school, and by the end of that weekend, I was enrolled in coaching school, and took my first class around the the beginning of May 2005. I am graduating ICA in June of this year.

An old Chinese proverb states that when you drink the water, remember the man who dug the well. I would not be in this place were it not for David Wood. (And Harry Bailey would have fallen through the ice at the age of nine!) So that’s how my life has been impacted by David Wood.
