Your passion, hobby, skill or life experience is valuable — literally. Whether it’s being married, or getting divorced. Whether having a child, or losing someone dear to you — it’s valuable. Whether you like stamp collecting, investing, riding horses, parenting or catering. Maybe you created a million dollar business, or failed at three start-ups. Perhaps you simply found a way to stick to your diet, or handle an angry spouse or upset child, or make pottery, or can help people find a fishing guide, or any of a myriad of skills, interests, or abilities — it’s all valuable.

If you already have a business, you’ll be happy to know this process is powerful for anyone with a product or service: professionals, small business owners, chiropractors, dentists, florists, potters, inventors. You can make more revenue and work less.

Now, i’m not promising you’ll make internet millions. it took hard work for me to reach $40,000 a month. I also won’t promise you a “4-Hour Work Week”. The author of that book and i work many more hours than that, although it’s entirely by choice. While it is completely possible to make a fortune and never work again by following the steps in this book, it’s also normal if you have some healthy skepticism. and i know not everyone wants to aim that high.

So let’s take a look at more down to earth goals that are easier to wrap the mind around.

How would your life be enhanced if you made an extra $3,000 per month while keeping your day job?

How would it feel to cut back to a job working only two or three days a week because your “how to” Cd or book is starting to sell really well?

What would it be worth to you to transition to doing something you really care about and receive five testimonials a week from people you have helped?

Which Freedoms Will You Create?

You may want more time, to be closer to your family, financial abundance, creative expression, or a combination of freedoms. Which freedom is most important to you?

Jon is a good earner and saver, and he likes the large amount of vacation time his corporate accounting job offers. However, he’d love to work from a home office or while traveling, rather than being confined to a cube at work. A website presence could lead to location freedom for him.

Janet earns a good living as a landscape architect. She also feels that two weeks of travel a year is plenty. But she’d like to cut her work hours from 40 to 20 per week, to spend more time with her family. an internet business can give her time freedom.

trent Hamm, who you’re going to hear about in a little while, felt the financial wolves howling at his door, and do you know what? Today he has financial freedom, and he created it.

Pay Per Click Engines

This way costs money, but is much faster to produce initial results. Google’s PPC program is called AdWords, and it is the major program around. Basically, you bid on a search term (e.g. “counseling sessions Melbourne”) and create a little ad that will appear on the right column of the Google search page. The higher you bid, the higher up your ad appears on the page (the higher the better).

It might cost you 5 cents, or $2, for every click (visitor), depending on how much you bid. The trick is to find search terms that your competition hasn’t thought of. That way you can get traffic for 5 cents instead of $2! That’s the difference between making a profit and a loss when it comes to the PPC engines.

A HUGE advantage of PPC engines is that your traffic is so targeted. In the above example, you pay Google only when someone searching for “counseling sessions Melbourne” clicks on your ad. If you’re a counselor in Melbourne, this is EXACTLY your target market, so you have a decent chance of getting a subscriber or client from it.

Is it Okay to Make a Lot of Money?

The following is an excerpt from the book Get Paid For Who You Are:

Deep down you may not want to start a business for fear that people will think you’re greedy or involved in a “get rich quick” scheme. if that’s what you’re worried about, is it really more noble for you to hide your gifts and talents than to make them available to others?

Here’s an example. Let’s say you’re a counselor who’s really good at helping women over 45 move through the process of divorce. a woman comes to your website lost, anxious, depressed and panicked about what life might be like after divorce. even though she knows it’s the right decision, she doesn’t have the courage to divorce because it’s too scary and she can’t see the way forward. as she gets information from your website she begins to feel some comfort, peace and optimism; she begins to create some goals for herself.

Then, she subscribes to your newsletter and after two to three months she has received so much from your free tips that she’s ready to proceed with her divorce. So, she spends $47 on your ebook, downloads it and devours it in about five hours. She’s so excited and happy, she follows your action steps and she starts putting them into place. She’s empowered. a month later, she calls you up and says, “I’d like to hire you. i’ve saved up the money and i’d like to work with you.” So you work with her over the phone and support her through the process of achieving her goal.

Perhaps making money is a normal, healthy byproduct of helping others.
